A couple months back I bought a really cool top from Revolve that I love. Of course by the time it arrived and I was ready to blog about it I couldn’t find the perfect bottoms to go with it. I wanted a classic all white look that was clean, crisp and playful.
Lately I’ve become obsessed with online shopping. It cuts down on the time I spend searching for things I need, and most of the time the packages arrive within 1-2 weeks (I do a lot of international shopping). How can you beat door-to-door delivery? The only downside to online shopping is when you buy something and it doesn’t fit properly, or you don’t like the style once you try it on. Thats what happened with this look. I bought a chic pair of baggy trousers to compliment the sexy crop top but they didn’t work well together.
I was on a deadline for this blog post so I was forced into a little retail therapy when I found something I wasn’t looking for. How was this pleated skirt not my first choice? The romantic in me loves the way it pairs with my crop top and heels. I played it up in a very girly-girl way, but I’m partial to an edgier look. For instance, wearing an oversized chunky sweater over this pleated skirt like style guru Alexa Chung has been known to wear. My favorite is a metallic pleated skirt though: a futuristic look paired with a matching top. My personal style mantra: more is always more!
Pleated skirts is a definite favorite spring trend for 2016. I don’t even mind the preppy school girl pleat or the retro pleat. Whichever you prefer this trend is on my must have for spring with a carryover into summer, too. The three-dimensional quality of the skirt is flattering on just about everyone and perfect for photo ops. Get ready to brave the world of skirts and waft your way trough those warmer months.
