F rom tinseltown to sunny and 70 degrees, Los Angeles is among many people’s bucket list. Chances are, if you’ve been to LA you’ve probably photographed one of the most Instagrammed landmarks in the city. LA offers a number of popular art exhibits, museums, walks and art shows which explains the growing popularity of street art.
For out-of-towners nothing may ever compare to the “The Happiest Place On Earth” or thrill of riding a roller coaster, but if you talk to your favorite bloggers they will tell you street art is the next best thing to see/do in LA.
I’ve complied a list of my favorite popular Instagram LA art meccas. If you are new to the city or just visiting, here’s your guide to the most photo worthy spots.
This pink wall is one of the most photogenic locations on Melrose Ave. From photographers, bloggers and tourists, make sure you pay your meter: to get this shot you will have to wait in line.
There’s no denying this all white building surrounded by all white palm trees isn’t appealing. With its historical fame and ode to movie appearances “Bates Motel” it is a must-see. (Side note: across the street is, in my opinion, the best coffee house in LA: Intelligensia).
With replicas of Angel Wings around LA, this is my favorite. It is perfectly situated next-door to my guilty pleasure Magnolia Bakery. Cupcakes anyone?
I may be a Texas at heart, but being a resident of Los Angeles for 16 years qualifies me to say, “I was Made In LA.” This mural is by far my favorite piece of street art in LA.
I saved the last for dinner. When you stop by Retna’s Mural you have to grab a bite at Craig’s A-list hot spot. Everything on the menu is delicious!
